Nail Salon Management Software: Know Which Layer You Are Buying
Nail salon management software is a wide label. Vendors use it for the appointment book, the staff list, reports, payroll, and the register. Calendar manages one slice of that: who is booked, for which service, on a plan that does not charge per tech or per customer.

If the hole is the phone while both hands are in a fill, the product page is the AI receptionist for nail salons. AIVA answers 24/7 for $200 one-time. Calendar is free for up to 3 staff. $20/month unlocks unlimited staff and customers, plus Reserve with Google. It does not answer the phone.
“Management” is a drawer full of jobs
Nail salon management software sounds like one system that runs the shop. On vendor sites it can mean the appointment book, client notes, staff permissions, reports, payroll, inventory, marketing texts, and the card terminal. Those do not have to be one contract. A nail owner who is also the senior tech usually needs two of them this month, not all of them.
Bukkii Calendar manages the book: who is coming, for which service, with which tech, on a booking website. Calendar is free for up to 3 staff. $20/month unlocks unlimited staff and customers, plus Reserve with Google. It does not answer the phone, run payroll, count retail, or close the ticket. If the word you actually needed was the software category, start at nail salon software. If you wanted a ranked compare, use best nail salon software.
What Calendar manages
- Services and the staff who can perform them. Unlimited staff are on the $20 plan.
- Unlimited customers are on the $20 plan. Nail rebooks are frequent. The list is the business.
- Free includes the booking website. Reserve with Google is on the $20 plan.
- Email reminders come with the $20 plan.
That is management of the schedule, not management of the company. Scheduling software is the staff-grid view of the same plan. Booking software is the client-facing view.
What it does not manage
Payroll, commission splits, back-bar inventory, retail barcodes, and the card rate are outside this plan. Two public pages we opened on September 22, 2026 do sell those jobs, at their prices:
- Mangomint: $120/month base + $10 per user, payroll $50/month + $8 per worker, marketing from $30/month. Their pricing page.
- GlossGenius: Gold $56/month or $48/month annually for businesses up to 9 staff; Platinum $168/month or $148/month annually for larger teams; payroll $40/month + $6 per seat; card rate 2.6% flat. Their pricing page.
Fetched September 22, 2026. Both publish a trial. Bukkii does not. Calendar is not a cheaper copy of either suite.
If you want that back office, buy it from them or keep the tool you have. Then add only the Bukkii layer you lack. The register version of this advice is nail salon POS and keep your nail salon POS.
The phone is not a management module
A front desk “managed” by software still misses the call when every tech is in a service. AIVA is the answer for that hour: $200 one-time, no monthly plan fee, no free trial. She is not a report pack and she is not payroll. A one-person floor feels this first: phone and Calendar for a solo salon. Larger floors feel it on Saturday.
Start Calendar free when the hole is the book. Get AIVA — $200 when the hole is the line. Both cards are on pricing.
A practical split for a growing floor
Four chairs, the owner still takes a column, a niece covers Sunday. You do not need a new payroll vendor to publish Sunday on Google. You need her name on the book and a page clients can tap. When you later want time clocks and commission reports, that is a suite purchase, priced on that vendor’s page, not a surprise inside the $20 plan.
Appointments, once the column exists, are covered on nail salon appointment software.
Two offers: AIVA on the phone, Calendar on the book
Bukkii sells two layers. They are separate products. Calendar is free for up to 3 staff. $20/month unlocks unlimited staff and customers, plus Reserve with Google. AIVA is $200 one-time. No free trial.
AIVA — the phone layer — $200 one-time
AIVA is the AI receptionist for inbound calls. She answers the shop number, books the service, and texts the appointment. $200 one-time. No monthly plan fee. No free trial. Get AIVA — $200. Hear her at (215) 791-6766.
Calendar — the booking layer
Calendar is free for up to 3 staff. $20/month unlocks unlimited staff and customers, plus Reserve with Google. It does not answer the phone. Start Calendar free. Both cards are on pricing.
FAQ
What does nail salon management software usually include?
Shops use the phrase for client records, staff columns, the appointment book, and sometimes reports, payroll, inventory, and checkout. Those are different products. Ask which layer the quote actually covers before you compare prices.
Does Bukkii Calendar include payroll, inventory, or commissions?
No. Free includes the booking website. Email reminders come with the $20 plan. Unlimited staff, unlimited customers, and Reserve with Google are on the $20 plan. It does not answer the phone. It is not payroll, inventory, or a commission engine. Mangomint and GlossGenius publish those jobs on their own pricing pages.
What does Calendar manage, then?
The public book and the staff who can be booked, without a per-person seat fee, plus the Google Reserve button. Unlimited customers means the plan does not cap the client list on that book.
Should a nail salon buy management software or booking software?
Buy a full management suite if you want payroll, inventory, and POS in one vendor and you accept their price. Buy Calendar if the hole is the public book and Google. Buy AIVA if the hole is the phone. Many shops keep a nail POS and add only the layer they lack.
Does management software answer the phone?
Not this Calendar plan. An AI receptionist is a separate product. AIVA is $200 one-time and does not replace your POS.
