Booksy Alternative for a Nail Salon

A Booksy alternative for a nail salon depends on why you are on Booksy. The marketplace and Boost are a distribution product. The subscription is a team-member meter. Fetched September 22, 2026. If you want the marketplace, stay. If you want a booking website, Calendar is free for up to 3 staff. $20/month unlocks unlimited staff and customers, plus Reserve with Google. Calendar does not answer the phone.

The price on their pricing page

According to biz.booksy.com/en-us/pricing, fetched on September 22, 2026, Booksy costs $29.99 per month, plus $20 per month for each additional team member, plus tax. The same page says you can “add extra users for $20/month each” and describes a 14-day trial with no credit card required. That trial is Booksy’s, not a Bukkii trial.

Booksy says the subscription includes every feature on that page, with no higher tier needed to unlock features. Their “we don’t charge you extra” list includes unlimited bookings, confirmations and reminders, and Reserve with Google. We are quoting that list as written; we do not describe how long their Google review takes, and we do not treat it as equivalent to Bukkii’s onboarding.

Boost is the part a booking page does not copy

Boost is optional. Booksy’s page says it is free to turn on, with no monthly fee, and charges a one-time 30% fee based on the total cost of a Boost client’s first visit. According to their FAQ, there is no commission on new clients who come from your own marketing, or from Booksy while Boost is off, and clients are not charged a booking fee.

That 30% fee is the reason a nail salon stays on Booksy: it is how strangers find the shop inside the marketplace. Bukkii Calendar does not offer a marketplace, and any “alternative” that pretends a $20 website can replace discovery is a bad alternative. If Boost or the marketplace listing is what fills your chairs, keep Booksy.

The payment rates on the same page (mobile and keyed-in 2.69% + $0.30, card reader 2.49% + $0.10, Tap to Pay 2.49% + $0.20) are processing fees, not part of the subscription, so we do not compare them to a per-seat price.

When Calendar is the alternative

Calendar makes sense as the alternative when the $20-per-extra-user charge is the complaint and your clients already know the shop. Calendar is free for up to 3 staff, and the free plan includes the booking website. The $20/month plan unlocks unlimited staff and customers, plus Reserve with Google, and adds email reminders. There is no per-tech add-on, and no Boost commission because there is no Boost. Start Calendar free. We do not claim native sync with Booksy. If you want to keep Booksy and add a phone without deleting anything, see keep Vagaro or Booksy and add AI.

We cover the other platforms the same way, quoting prices only from pages fetched on the day: Vagaro alternatives, Fresha, Setmore, and Mangomint. For a roundup, see best salon booking software, and for why per-seat pricing matters, see unlimited-staff booking calendar.

The phone is still not included

Neither Booksy’s subscription nor Calendar is an AI receptionist, and neither will pick up the phone mid-service. AIVA does that for $200 one-time. Get AIVA — $200, or hear her first at (215) 791-6766.

Two offers: AIVA on the phone, Calendar on the book

The calendar and the receptionist fix different leaks, so buy the one you are missing, or both. Neither is an afterthought, and Calendar does not answer the phone.

AIVA — the phone layer — $200 one-time

AIVA is the AI receptionist for inbound calls. She answers the shop number, books the service, and texts the appointment details. She costs $200 one-time, with no monthly plan fee and no free trial. Get AIVA — $200, or hear her at (215) 791-6766.

Calendar — the booking layer

Calendar is free for up to 3 staff, and $20/month unlocks unlimited staff and customers, plus Reserve with Google. It does not answer the phone. Start Calendar free, and compare both plans on pricing.

Bukkii Calendar. It is free for up to 3 staff, and $20/month unlocks unlimited staff and customers, plus Reserve with Google. It does not replace Booksy’s marketplace or Boost, and it does not answer the phone.

Can I keep Booksy?

Yes. Keep it if the marketplace is how new clients find your chairs, and add AIVA at $200 one-time if missed calls are the problem. We do not claim native two-way sync with Booksy.
