Google Reserve for Salons — What the Button Does, and What It Does Not

Google Reserve and Reserve with Google are the same program: a Book Online button on your Google listing. On a nail salon, the tap becomes a service, a tech, and a time. Calendar is free for up to 3 staff. $20/month unlocks unlimited staff and customers, plus Reserve with Google. It does not answer the phone. AIVA does — $200 one-time.

Google Reserve and Reserve with Google are the same program

Google Reserve is the name a lot of owners type. Reserve with Google is the name on Google’s partner program. Both point at one control: Book Online on the listing in Maps and Search. If you want the definition, the partner requirement, and the review window, read reserve with Google. This page is the booking itself — what the tap does, and what it refuses to do.

The product page is still Reserve with Google. The nail-floor version, with the fill in progress and the listing side by side, is Google Reserve for nail salons.

One gel fill, from the map pin to the chair

A guest is already on Google. They open a nail salon, tap Book Online, and should see the services you actually sell. Gel fill is not a full set. A pedicure is not nail art. The time they pick has to be a real opening for a tech who does that work. That book is the online booking calendar, not a phone script.

If the menu on Google is shorter or longer than the menu on the floor, the button creates the wrong appointment. Fix the service names and the durations before you judge the channel. A checklist for the listing, the menu, and the calls that still come in is get more bookings with Google Reserve.

What lands on the book

The appointment lands on the Bukkii calendar: service, time, and the guest Google passes through when they book. Calendar is free for up to 3 staff. $20/month unlocks unlimited staff and customers, plus Reserve with Google. Email reminders come with the $20 plan. The plan does not include voice minutes. Google’s review still has to finish before the button appears. The product page says that review is about 7–14 business days. We are not repeating a new timeline here. Until then, the website link is what the listing shows.

What Google Reserve does not replace

  • It does not answer the shop number. Call is still Call.
  • It does not close the ticket. Your POS stays the checkout.
  • It does not sync itself into Square, Vagaro, Booksy, or Mangomint. We do not claim that webhook.
  • It does not set your deposit amount. You do.

Keep the register. The same sentence, for owners who searched a POS name first, is keep your nail salon POS. Square specifically, when the question is the deposit, is Square Appointments deposit.

Match the deposit rule to the button

A Book Online appointment for a full set should follow the same deposit rule as a phone appointment for a full set. Guests notice when one channel asks and the other does not. Write the rule once: appointment deposit policy. On the phone, AIVA states it and texts the link — AI receptionist that takes deposits and nail salon deposit booking.

AIVA is $200 one-time. No monthly plan fee. No free trial. Get AIVA — $200. The line-item usage — 100 voice minutes and 1,500 SMS, then $0.35/min and $0.035 per SMS — is on pricing and AI receptionist cost.

Two offers: AIVA on the phone, Calendar on Google

Google Reserve is Calendar. The shop line is AIVA. Keep Square, Vagaro, Booksy, or the register you already trust for the ticket.

AIVA — the phone layer — $200 one-time

FAQ

Is Google Reserve the same as Reserve with Google?

Yes. They are two names for Google’s Book Online button on Maps and Search. Bukkii sells that button on Calendar. Calendar is free for up to 3 staff. $20/month unlocks unlimited staff and customers, plus Reserve with Google. The program name people also search is Reserve with Google.

What happens after someone taps Book Online?

They choose a service and an open time on the Bukkii calendar, and the appointment is held there. For a nail salon that means the menu you stored — gel, dip, acrylic, fill, pedi — with the duration you stored. Google Reserve does not invent a skill or a chair you did not save.

Does Google Reserve replace Square or my POS?

No. Checkout can stay on Square, Vagaro, Booksy, or the register you already use. We do not claim a native two-way sync into those systems, and we do not quote their prices.

Can Google Reserve ask for a deposit on a phone call?

No. The button does not answer the phone. AIVA asks for the deposit you trained and texts the payment link. AIVA is $200 one-time, with no monthly plan fee and no free trial. The deposit amount is your policy.

How much is the Google booking button on Bukkii?
